Message from the Mayor

It is an exciting time in Fairview Heights!  The holidays are upon us, which means our City will be a busy place for shopping, dining and entertainment, while this creates an inconvenience for some, remember we fund our City service through sales tax revenue!  It is the sales tax revenue that enables us to be one of only two communities in the state that has no City property tax! On Saturday, October 28th we held the Groundbreaking for The “REC” Complex, currently under construction on Bunkum Road.  This Recreation Complex will include fitness and exercise equipment, gymnasium, aquatics with a pool, splash pad, lazy river and waterside, as well as, an indoor walking trail, climbing wall and many other amenities. Also, the site will feature a soccer field, track, outdoor walking trail and dog park.  We anticipate completion in early 2019!  The construction team is well underway on the preparing the site for construction! In a few weeks, the City will be paving the walking trail at Moody Park and will make for a great enhancement for those who use the trail.  I would like to personally wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving and ask that you keep our police, firefighters, EMT’s in your thoughts during the Thanksgiving holiday!

Be a Santa to a Senior

Be a Santa to a Senior

The holidays are fast approaching and the City of Fairview Heights is teaming up with Home Instead Senior Care for their Be a Santa to a Senior program.  This will be the City's 3rd year being a part of this wonderful program.  Be a Santa to a Senior is designed to provide gifts and bring smiles to our community's lonely and financially challenged seniors.  In the next couple weeks, there will be a tree in the lobby of City Hall with ornaments listing what the seniors would like.  Please return the gifts in a gift bag to City Hall or the other 2 drop off locations (Home Instead Senior Care & Bank of Belleville) before December 13th.  If you have any questions, please contact the Mayor's Office at 618-489-2010 or Home Instead Senior Care at 618-234-7640.
